Important Announcement Regarding Fairview School Calendar

Fairview Families,
The Kentucky Department of Public Health has recently recommended that districts not return to in-person instruction before Monday, January 11, 2021.
In the most recent data released, our county is #19 out of 120 counties in total number of cases with an incident rate that is #13 out of 120 counties. Our region is at 79.43% of inpatient capacity. This is the highest of the 10 regions. More data can be found at the following link:
Over the past nine months, you have faced many challenges as the pandemic has impacted your child's education. It has been a time of constant change. Your partnership has been and will continue to be greatly valued. The partnership between the families of students and educators is needed now more than ever to result in the educational outcomes our kids deserve.
Our priority continues to be in person instruction under conditions in which our students and staff are safe. We want to have our students back in person as soon as possible and anticipate additional guidance after January 1st. We will communicate with you during the first week of January after this guidance is received. We hope to see improvements in our community data and return to in-person instruction in some capacity on January 12, 2020.
Adjustments to our calendar have been made for the 20/21 school year. Rather than coming back to virtual instruction after the break, school will not be in session the first full week of January, 1/4/21 - 1/8/21.The five days for this full week have been added at the end of the school year. Additionally, school will not be in session on Mondays in January and the first two Mondays in February, resulting in four additional days added at the end of the school year.
In summary, in the revised calendar, school will not be in session for students 1/4/21 - 1/8/21, 1/11/21, 1/18/21, 1/25/21, 2/1/21, and 2/8/21. The last day for students will be June 10, 2021.
We are hopeful that full-day, in personal instruction will be possible in the spring. Therefore, this revision to our calendar will give us an additional two weeks of full day, in-person instruction.
Your understanding, flexibility, and teamwork continues to be appreciated. We will update you in early January as new information is received. Thank you.
