Congratulations Mrs. Workman on being named the new Fairview Elementary Principal!

Greetings Team Fairview!

We’re excited to announce the hire of Mrs. Leslie Workman. Mrs. Workman will be our new principal at Fairview Elementary School, as Mr. Mullins moves up to an assistant principal at Fairview Middle/High School.

Mrs. Workman comes to us from Morehead, Kentucky where she has been an English teacher for the past 14 years (7 years in Bath County and 7 years in Fleming County). She is also the Co-Director of the Morehead Writing Project where she has designed high-quality professional development, implemented data-driven best-practices, and led improved instructional outcomes for students through her work with teachers.

Mrs. Risden-Smith said the following about the hire of Mrs. Workman, “I’m excited to have her join our team and lead at Fairview Elementary. She has the knowledge, skills, and passion to continue to move Fairview Elementary forward and continue the quality work put in place by our educators that is resulting in improved student achievement outcomes. She will be a great asset to our team at FES and it is evident that she believes as our educators do...she can be a true difference maker in the lives of children by giving them her best in everything she does! She values our priorities at FES including a focus on student achievement, relationships, family partnerships, and educating the whole child. I am excited about the future of our district with her hire and the addition Mr. Mullins will be to Fairview Middle/High School, given his individual talents and the positive impact he will have on students. Our #FutureFocused efforts over the past couple of years have resulted in the district-wide structure necessary for the 20/21 school year to be our best year yet.”

Mrs. Workman shared the following, “Education is my passion and I strive to help every student see their potential. I am happy to join the Fairview team and look forward to serving as principal at Fairview Elementary! “

Due to Covid-19 gathering restrictions and our inability to have a formal meet and greet, we will have a more detailed virtual introduction of Mrs. Workman on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 4:30 PM.

Until then, please go ahead and join us in welcoming Mrs. Workman to the Fairview Family!
