Robert Morrison Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility/Criteria: Open to all seniors at Fairview High School. $1000 award. Completed application due in the counseling office by Friday, April 21.
Class of 1967 Scholarship
Eligibility/Criteria: Must be a Fairview senior; only select majors will be considered (see application). Completed application due in the counseling office by Friday, April 21.
Boyd County Retired Teachers Scholarship
Eligibility/Criteria: Must plan to pursue a career in Education. $500 award. Completed application due in the counseling office by Friday, April 21.
Glenwood Young Memorial Scholarship
Eligibility/Criteria: Open to all seniors at Fairview High School and Paul Blazer High School. Requires essay and 2 letters of recommendation. $1000 award. Completed application due in the counseling office by Tuesday, April 25.
Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship
Eligibility/Criteria: This is a new scholarship program for students pursuing qualifying programs. Click here for more info. Deadline to apply is Thursday, June 1.
College and Career Readiness
How does a student demonstrate that he/she is college and career ready?
* Student meets the ACT benchmarks established by the KY Council of Postsecondary Education - English 18, Math 19, Reading 20.
* If a student is not meeting the above benchmarks on ACT, he/she can demonstrate readiness through the Compass and KYOTE testing (will be administered at FHS).
There are 2 components to Career Readiness (Academic and Technical).
Academic - Student meets one of the following - 1) CPE benchmarks on ACT (see above); 2) ASVAB score of 50 or above; 3) WorkKeys Silver Status
Technical - 1) Student earns an Industrial Certificate at RATC; or 2) Student successfully completes a sequence of career and technical education courses and earns a passing score on the Kentucky Occupational Skills Standards Assessment (KOSSA).
